Omaha’s 6th annual 24-hour charitable challenge is set for Wednesday. The giving begins at midnight with a minimum $10 donation and hourly drawings and prizes make your donations go further. Visit the website to donate and see other organizations that are participating.

Omaha Gives! is a year-round online giving platform organized by the Omaha Community Foundation to grow philanthropy in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties. Each year, there is a 24-hour online giving event in May to celebrate nonprofits.

The goal is to inspire the community to come together for 24 hours to give as much as possible to support the work of public 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the metro area. The minimum donation is $10 and there is no maximum. Prizes and challenge funds amplify charitable donations to make each dollar go further. Search profiles of participating nonprofits and track progress during the event on our leaderboard.

Last year, the community raised over $7.8 million for local nonprofits.

The UNMC SHARING Clinics, which can receive donations through Omaha Gives!, strive to enhance the well-being of the greater Omaha community by providing high-quality, low-cost health care and human services to those in need.
In a multidisciplinary educational setting, the SHARING Clinics empower patients and instill the values of service and compassion in UNMC students. The SHARING organization oversees four clinics in the Omaha area: SHARING, RESPECT, GOODLIFE and VISION.

  • The SHARING Clinic provides primary care to patients.
  • The RESPECT Clinic provides testing for sexually transmitted infections (STI), treatment and preventive counseling and education for patients.
  • The GOODLIFE Clinic provides care to patients living with type 2 diabetes.
  • The VISION Clinic provides ophthalmology services and diabetic eye screenings to patients referred from the SHARING and GOODLIFE clinics.

The UNMC SHARING Clinics also are partnered with a dental clinic in Lincoln and a primary care clinic in Kearney.
