How to start a new team
Do you have a group of four-10 golfers?
- Create your team.
- Instruct your teammates to register with your team through the league website.
- Pay the $60 team registration fee at the Center for Healthy Living by April 24.
- Attend the captain’s meeting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Student Life Center.
How to join without a team
No team? No problem! Register as a free agent through the league website. Whether you’re looking to join a team for the entire season OR fill in as a sub, we can help.
- Select the option to join an existing team.
- Select the team named “Free Agents” from the drop-down menu.
- Fill out the required fields in the form and click “Submit Registration.”
Once you complete these steps, expect an email within seven days with more information about the golf league and next steps!
One of its longest running and most popular leagues, the intramural golf league offers UNMC and Nebraska Medicine faculty, staff, and students a chance to get outside and enjoy the links. Although its ranks are graced by the occasional scratch golfer, this is an inclusive league that offers golfers of all skill levels a healthy balance of competition and recreation.

League play
Teams are composed of a roster of four to 10 golfers. Squads are given the flexibility to rotate the four golfers who represent their side from week-to-week. The season is played in a round-robin format with teams scheduled to face a new opponent every Thursday for nine holes of medal and match play. Don’t let the details intimidate you — automated score sheets with step-by-step instructions are available so that all you have to worry about is showing up when it’s your turn to golf.
Individual handicaps
A handicap is based on a golfer’s five most recent outings. That means there’s no need to beat yourself up about one bad night since that score will soon be forgotten. Golfers may find their handicaps (and scores, results, etc.) online through EZLeagues.
Prizes
The team with the best record during the season will be immortalized on the traveling trophy. The winners of the postseason scramble will be awarded the coveted Intramural Championship T-shirts.
