Corrigan McBride, M.D., has been appointed as director of bariatric surgery in UNMC’s Department of Surgery.
Dr. McBride joined the department of surgery in July 2002. Since that time, she has focused the majority of her practice around bariatric surgery including the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass and the Lap Band procedures.
“I specialize in weight loss surgery because I enjoy helping patients improve their health and change their lives,” said Dr. McBride, who completed her general surgery residency and a surgical critical care fellowship in general surgery at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Mo.
She then went on to complete an advanced laparoscopy fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va., before joining UNMC and University Medical Associates.
Dr. McBride sees patients in the UMA Surgery Clinic on the fifth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center.
