Public invited to see Davis Global Center light show to mark Independence Day

The University of Nebraska Medical Center invites the public to see an outdoor light show at the Dr. Edwin G. & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center.

From now through July 5 beginning at 9 p.m., the Davis Global Center will have a display of light and graphics to celebrate the nation's birthday. The display is embedded in the William Zahner Art Wall, which wraps the southwestern corner of the building on the northeast corner of 42nd and Leavenworth streets.

The light show, which will last for seven minutes, will continuously cycle throughout the night, with the nation's colors in patterns and displays.

"We are very grateful for the technical and artistic ability of all those involved in planning and developing the complex computer programs that activate the many thousands of LED elements," said Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., chancellor of UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. "The entire med center family and the public are warmly welcome to drive by and enjoy the artistic display."
