Retirements announced
A 50-year UNMC employee — David Shaw, PhD — is among the 24 retirements announced this month by the UNMC Department of Human Resources. Dr. Shaw joined the UNMC College of Dentistry on June 1, 1969. In addition to Dr. Shaw, six retirees have worked at UNMC for longer than 30 years, and seven more have been at UNMC longer than two decades. Announced retirements included:

University Tower renovation will continue until October
Renovation work on the main corridor of University Tower level three is underway and will continue until October. The project area includes the corridor that connects Wittson Hall to Durham Outpatient Center, as well as the corridor that heads south to the Lied Transplant Center. The project will occur in five phases and includes lighting and cosmetic upgrades to the area. Most of the work will occur during the hours of 4 p.m. to midnight. A walking path will be maintained at all times during construction.
