How I fell in love with transplant hepatology: I was drawn to liver disease or hepatology because of its pathophysiology and complexity involving multi-organ system. During my training, I observed patients suffering from a variety of liver diseases who were extremely sick but got better quickly after a liver transplant. From that time on, I knew I wanted to be a transplant hepatologist. I was fortunate to train with many inspirational hepatologists who go above and beyond for their patients. All of them inspired me to become a hepatologist.

  • One of my favorite subjects in high school was world history. I still enjoy learning history of medicine. People say I am a history nerd.
  • My favorite sport is swimming, and I represented our medical school team in competition. Now I enjoy tech gadgets, learning history, traveling and tasting new food.
