Dr. Raikes to discuss child development disparities

Abbie Raikes, PhD, associate professor of health promotion in the UNMC College of Public Health, will discuss how children’s growth and maturation can be influenced by environmental factors, especially in younger children, at the next Olson Center Brown Bag on Oct. 20 from noon to 1 p.m.

Dr. Raikes will outline these factors and describe population-level data in documenting inequities in early child development using the Global Scale for Early Development. A new study in Nebraska designed to validate this scale also will be introduced.

This lecture is free. However, the cost is $10 to obtain nursing credit. Payment instructions will be given at pre-registration. Nursing credit can only be obtained for watching the livestream of the virtual presentation, not for viewing the recording after the event.
