For the record

Nebraska Drug Discovery & Development Pipeline Symposium set for May

The UNMC community is invited to participate in the 2021 Nebraska Drug Discovery & Development Pipeline (ND3P) Symposium, which will be held virtually on May 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The interactive, two-day symposium will feature world leaders in drug discovery in such areas as in silico screening, cryo-EM, medicinal chemistry and engineering biomaterials.

The format will be entirely virtual, with opportunities to interact with both internationally renowned external speakers and top NU researchers, both in the larger sessions and in breakout sessions. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about activities and core capabilities that already have been developed under the ND3P, contribute to plans for the future evolution of the pipeline and identify new directions/potential collaborators for their own research programs.

The ND3P arose out of the NU systemwide Big Ideas competition and has evolved into a strong scientific partnership between UNL and UNMC.

Student organizations holding diaper drive April 12-16

Many don’t know it, but diapers cannot be purchased through government assistance programs. Three student organizations on campus are asking for help in collecting this essential product for families in need.

Diaper and monetary donations will go to Project Everlast, a statewide, youth-led initiative committed to providing resources, connections and support to young adults as they age out of foster care.

The Diaper Drive is sponsored by three student organizations: Fostering the Future, Luikart Society and Pediatrics Interest Group.

Diapers sizes three and up, as well as pullups, are preferred.

Products can be dropped off at:

  • UNMC Childcare Development Center
  • College of Nursing third floor commons area
  • Sorrell Center second floor commons areas
  • Project Everlast, 314 S. 26th St.

Monetary donations can be made to Project Everlast.

For each diaper or monetary donation, donors will be entered to win a Starbucks gift card.
Fostering the Future will be matching donations up to $500.
