A crane again will be on the corner of 44th Street and Dewey Avenue on the Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC campus beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 17.

The construction equipment will require a road closure on Dewey Avenue between 44th and 45th streets through 5 p.m. on Monday, July 19.

This is the same location that has been closed several times in the last six weeks as part of the expansion of the clinical lab. The crane will be lifting mechanical equipment to the roof of University Tower.

The Emergency Department at the Nebraska Medical Center, located at 4350 Dewey Ave., will remain open and accessible from 44th Street during this time.

There will be signage at Emile Street and Saddle Creek Road to inform drivers going to the Emergency Department to go to 44th and Farnam streets, and the same signage at 45th Street and Dewey Avenue. Signage at 44th and Farnam streets will inform drivers going to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.
