H: Drives will be ‘Read only’ on Sept. 30, removed Oct. 29

In July, all Nebraska Medicine and UNMC colleagues were informed that effective Sept. 30, 2021, personal file shares (M: drives or H: drives) will no longer be accessible. Please take the time to review the original article if you have not already.

Nebraska Medicine and UNMC IT has updated the UNMC H: Drive transition timeline. The updated timeline for H: Drives only is below.

Sept. 30 – H: Drives will be READ ONLY

Oct. 29 – H: Drives will be REMOVED

All documents stored on a personal file share must be transitioned to One Drive, the Microsoft cloud-based personal file storage solution. Accessing files via OneDrive can be done anywhere, anytime, and does not require the use of Global Protect. One Drive resources can be found below.

Step-by-step instructions for transitioning your files to One Drive

Additional One Drive resources

Transition any files in your H: Drive to One Drive by Oct. 29, 2021. Files currently stored in a H: Drive that are not transitioned to One Drive by Oct. 29 will no longer be accessible.

There is no change to the M: Drive (Nebraska Medicine) timeline. All files currently stored in a M: Drive that are not transitioned to One Drive by Sept. 30 will no longer be accessible.

I have all of my materials including those that are currently in use on my H drive. I have too much for me to transfer this. I will need assistance.
