Sixty people participated in a golf tournament and reception Aug. 26 as part of the ongoing celebration of the UNMC College of Medicine’s 125th anniversary.

Students and faculty took part in a nine-hole scramble followed by a cocktail and appetizer reception. The event took place at Tara Hills Golf Course in Papillion.

Brent Starr, Lois Starr, Megan Irwin and Brandon Kovar made up the winning team, shooting a low score of 30. Other participants received pin prizes for longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin.

“It was a beautiful day and the students got a chance to inter-mingle with other College of Medicine students and faculty during the tournament and the subsequent reception,” said Starr, vice president of the Class of 2007 and the student representative on the 125th College of Medicine anniversary committee.
