Goal reached and winners announced

picture disc.UNMC employees demonstrated their generosity on Friday by supplying a final surge of donations that allowed the medical center to surpass its United Way campaign goal of $128,000.

As of 4:30 p.m. Friday — the final day of the campaign — UNMC employees had combined to donate $129,554 during the three-week campaign. That is about $5,000 more than the campus raised during the 2006 campaign.

“I am thrilled that we were able to surpass our goal,” said Jill Carson, UNMC’s United Way campaign manager.

Carson said she was excited to see UNMC employees close out a strong campaign by donating about $10,000 on the final day.

“The United Way will truly be able to use our contributions for so many worthwhile causes,” she said. “This was a wonderful way to end the campaign!”
