The good people over at the Health Profession’s Tracking Center are rolling out the 2007-2008 version of the Directory of Nebraska and Western Iowa Healthcare Resources.

The directory is an easy-to-use resource filled with valuable health care information. It is broken down by profession and practice location and includes listings of physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, practice locations, hospitals and pharmacies.

The directory also includes information for assisted living facilities and nursing homes. The “Suppliers and Services” section includes information on medical alarms, medical billing services, medical equipment, supplies and more.

“As always, the directory provides current health care information for Nebraska and Western Iowa,” HPTC Director Kolene Kohll said. “We are constantly working to ensure data accuracy.”

The HPTC is always looking for find new ways the directory can be used to provide up-to-date healthcare information to those who need it, said Marlene Deras, HPTC operations manager.

“This makes our directory an increasingly valuable asset,” Deras said.

This year, the directory includes National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers for physicians.

The directories cost $75 each when purchasing five or fewer, $70 each for orders of six to 10 directories and $65 each when ordering 11 or more. Campus shipping and handling is $4 for one directory and $1 for each additional directory.

Directories can now be purchased online at www.unmc.edu/hptc. For more information, please contact Hilary at 559-2903.
