Eyewitness to History – The Durham Museum Photo Archives

Join The Durham Museum’s Curator Carrie Wieners on a walk through 100 years of photography as you tour the Museum’s Photo Archives in “Eyewitness to History – The Durham Museum Photo Archives.” With more than 500,000 images, the Archive covers from 1860-1960 through the eyewitness accounts of 10 Omaha photographers.

Participants will assist in the re-housing of photo negatives and learn about proper preservation techniques that they can apply to their own photo collections.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Durham Museum. Seating is limited to 12 participants. Reserve your spot today by e-mailing Jill Carson at jlcarson@unmc.edu. The Durham Museum is at 801 S. 10th St.

The workshop is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with a valid identification badge. The partnership also offers lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus.
