Wellness Wednesday — It’s NUFlex re-enrollment time again

picture disc.NUFlex re-enrollment opened Monday and employees have until 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5 to complete the re-enrollment process.

The staff at the UNMC Benefits Office encourages employees to re-enroll online using the university’s business portal, Firefly. They say that most likely, starting next year, employees will only be able to renew online.

Musical medicine interlude

A couple Wellness Wednesdays ago, we talked about the importance of taking a break during the workday. Well, tomorrow employees and students are encouraged to do just that while the Omaha Chamber Music Society presents the monthly Music as Medicine concert in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium at noon. Employees and students are invited to bring their lunches and relax to soothing sounds of chamber music presented by flutist Maria Harding, cellist Paul Lewdon and pianist John Bennett.

Employees with questions on how to re-enroll online are invited to attend NUFlex presentations scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20 from 9 to 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 25 from noon to 1 p.m., both in the College of Nursing, Room 1010 and Monday, Nov. 24 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Lincoln at the College of Dentistry, Room 6.

Benefits staff also will be available to answer your benefits and online enrollment questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday by calling Jo at 559-4340, Dana at 559-5911 and/or Jan before noon at 559-7403.

To re-enroll online:

  • Employees will need their Firefly IDs (in most instances this is their Lotus Notes short name, for example Jane Doe would probably be “jdoe”).
  • If employees have forgotten, or do not know, their passwords, they can request one by clicking on “Forgotten your password” from the main Firefly log-on screen. An e-mail will be sent to their Lotus Notes e-mail addresses. The e-mail message will be encrypted and therefore, it can only be read when using a Lotus Notes client (not from logging in through the Web). Those who are unable to read their e-mail will need to contact the SAP Support Desk (see contact information below).
  • There is a link at the top of the Firefly page (right above the UNMC Today) that includes two tutorials, a short version and a longer version, that will help walk employees through the steps.

For employees who would like assistance re-enrolling online:

  • A computer has been set up in the Benefits Department (Administration Building, Room 2015) to assist those who do not have access to a computer or who would like assistance completing the process online.
  • Computer time is available by appointment only (15-minute appointments); to schedule an appointment, contact Dana at 559-5911.
  • Employees must bring their IDs and passwords to their scheduled appointment. If they do not know their IDs and passwords, they can contact SAP Help Desk (see contact information below) prior to arranging their appointments.
  • Employees should have all benefits decisions made prior to coming to the office and logging on to the computer.
