Construction underway in Norfolk

Footings have been poured and construction has begun on the UNMC College of Nursing Northern Division on the campus of Northeast Community College in Norfolk.

The building, recently named the J. Paul and Eleanor McIntosh College of Nursing following a donation of more than $1 million from the McIntoshes, will be completed in summer of 2010.

Once completed, the facility will house all Northeast basic nurse aide, practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs and UNMC College of Nursing bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs.

A capital campaign for the project raised $11.9 million in less than two years.
