Donors are needed to sponsor the 10th annual SHARING The Green Golf Tournament, which will be held on Friday, Sept. 11 at Stone Creek Golf Course in Omaha.

The tournament has a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and the format is an 18-Hole, 4-Ball Scramble with pin prizes. Funds from the tournament benefit UNMC’s student-run SHARING Clinics.

“Each year, SHARING the Green is our biggest fundraiser for the clinics,” said Adam Sutton, one of the organizers for this year’s tournament. “Funds raised during this tournament are vital to our operations and our ability to serve our patients.”

Last year, $52,000 was raised during the tournament.

Sponsorship levels range from the $7,500 SHARING Sponsor level to the $250 beverage cart sponsorship. The price for an individual golfer is $90.

A steak dinner and banquet will be held at Stone Creek following the tournament.

The SHARING Clinics are a nationally recognized group of clinics that serve the uninsured and underinsured at little or no cost.
Founded in 1997, the SHARING Clinics include:

  • SHARING for general health care;
  • RESPECT for STD testing, treatment, and counseling;
  • GOODLIFE for diabetes care; and
  • A dental clinic in Lincoln run by College of Dentistry students.

Students and faculty from a variety of disciplines, including medicine, nursing, physical therapy, dentistry and public health work together to provide patients with integrated, multidisciplinary care.
