Healthy smiles brought children from Jinja, Uganda, to the UNMC Pediatric Dental Clinic on Wednesday.

The children were, from left, Mercy Akello, 8, Olivia Nakirya, 12, Mariam Nambogwe, 9, and Catherine Mugala, 12.

They have never been outside of their village or seen a dentist, received a check-up, cleaning and sealants.

They are part of the musical group, The Chosen, and are in the United States to raise awareness and money for the AIDS Orphan Education Trust (AOET), a non-governmental organization in Uganda that offers financial assistance to Ugandan families who take in a child orphaned by AIDS.
