Campus food drive ends today

Today is the last day of the campus food drive.

Early reports showed that the team of UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center, UNMC Physicians, Clarkson College and Private Practice Associates needed a late surge to match our record total of 11 tons of food, which we collected last year.

Rumor has it some departments have taken the public relations department up on its challenge to collect at least 12 bags of food and household items.

Well, for the sake of general information, we thrashed our goal thanks in no small part to Lisa Spellman, a publications and media specialist who brought in an astounding 32 bags!

“No one should have to go without food,” Spellman said.

All told, our department collected 82 bags. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Let’s hear it for the home team!)

We do want to hear from departments that surpassed the 12-bag mark. Send your department name, total and, if you have one, a photo of your haul to today@unmc.edu and we’ll publish them in UNMC Today.
