All of our panelists correctly picked Nebraska over Kansas State last week.

That leaves their records for the season as:

  • Jeff Hill, M.D., 8-3
  • Team Runco/Kelsay (Lisa Runco and Chad Kelsay), 7-4
  • Rob Zatechka, M.D., 7-4

This week, our panelists and the Big 12 North Champion Cornhuskers have a quick turnaround as NU heads to the mountains to play the Colorado Buffaloes on Friday.

Will the Huskers bring a five-game winning streak with them to the Dec. 5 Big 12 title game in Arlington, Texas? Or will the Buffs catch NU in a proverbial “trap game?”

Our panelists discuss the Nebraska-Colorado game below.

Dr. Hill says, “The Colorado program is crumbling and for NU, this will be a tune-up for the Big 12 Championship Game. The Huskers will be sharp.” NU 35, Colorado 14

Team Runco/Kelsay says “If our defense comes out and plays the way we’ve come to expect, then we would anticipate another good (but maybe ugly) win. Boulder is interesting, as CU always plays NU at ‘another level’ when we go out there. It is also a bit scary, as they’ve actually played some good football this year. But we believe we have plenty of momentum heading into this game and our guys will be ready to play.” NU 20, Colorado 17

Dr. Zatechka says, “The emotional set-up is worrisome with a short practice week and NU coming off of three big games. Still, even with CU’s improvement at quarterback, Colorado lacks a reliable running game and could be easy fodder for NU’s defense. On offense, look for more reliance on the run emphasizing the power game. In the end, I think Suh, I mean NU, wins.” NU 27, Colorado 17
