Jeff Hill, M.D., and Team Runco/Kelsay (Lisa Runco and Chad Kelsay) each correctly picked Texas over Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game, although they both would have loved to be wrong.

They almost were and the great optimist, Rob Zatechka, M.D., came within a second of getting right back into the “Pick’em” race heading into the bowl game.

As such, our panelists’ records are now:

  • Jeff Hill, M.D., 10-3
  • Team Runco/Kelsay (Lisa Runco and Chad Kelsay), 9-4
  • Rob Zatechka, M.D., 8-5

Congrats to Dr. Hill, who thanks to Texas’ win, has locked up at least a share of Pick’em title for this year.

And thanks to all of our regular panelsts as well as our four guest panelists — Ward Chambers, M.D., Rick Blum, Randall Toothaker, D.D.S., and Lynell Klassen, M.D. — for their participation this year!

And, so without further adieu, let’s hear from our panelists about tonight’s Nebraska-Arizona Holiday Bowl matchup:

Dr. Hill says, “Look for the Huskers to win this one, which will help recruiting for next year.” NU 21, Arizona 13

Team Runco/Kelsay says, “We’re definitely up for a big NU win, but as for the score, we’re not positive. We are sure the defense will play solid. As always the question is, ‘Can our offense score?’ “NU 20 Arizona 9

Dr. Zatechka says, “Arizona has a defense that was nearly as strong as NU’s. They have a fairly conservative offense with arguably the best offensive line in the Pac-10. Finally, don’t forget they have one of the best young coaches nationally in Mike Stoops. I’m picking NU with the Huskers getting two non-offensive scores.” NU 24, Arizona 14

  1. Mike B. (Eppley) says:

Nebraska's offense will open up a bit more. Cody Green will play. Lot more option play. Using Niles Paul. Defense will be in top form. Nebraska will win this one 24-20!

  2. Greg Karst says:

Well, I think Dr. Zatechka's analysis is closest of the 3, but I'm guessing even with a couple of AZ turnovers, NU won't manage more than field goals against the UA defense. Arizona's running backs are all healthy for the first time in months and the spread offense and QB Foles quick release will give the NU defense grief. Arizona 20, NU 6.
