Three Nebraska state senators paid visits to the medical center last week to learn more about UNMC research, education and outreach developments.

The visiting lawmakers were:

  • Sen. Mike Gloor of Grand Island;
  • Sen. Galen Hadley of Kearney; and
  • Sen. Bob Krist of Omaha.

“It was a pleasure to host the senators as they prepare for the upcoming legislative session,” said Bob Bartee, vice chancellor for external affairs. “We enjoyed showing them the important work being done here at the medical center and how it benefits Nebraskans.”

Gloor and Hadley took separate tours of campus on Monday and Krist visited UNMC on Tuesday.

The senators met with campus officials, visited educational areas such as the Sorrell Center Clinical Skills Lab and talked with researchers in the Durham Research Center towers.

The upcoming legislative sessions kicks off on Wednesday, Jan. 6 and will conclude on Wednesday, April 14.
