The database — which can be found on the UNMC Research website — will serve as a comprehensive list of all clinical trial activity at UNMC, said Jennifer Larsen, M.D., associate vice chancellor for research.

Currently about 60 trials are listed in the database.

“One of the questions many patients and even faculty ask is, ‘What trials are we doing?'” Dr. Larsen said. “This database will allow our patients and faculty to answer those questions and this can lead to better care and better research collaboration.”

After a trial has been approved by the IRB, information about it can be downloaded into the database from clinicaltrial.gov.
