Jeffrey Baldwin, Pharm.D.
Jeffrey Baldwin, Pharm.D., professor and vice chairman of pharmacy practice in the UNMC College of Pharmacy, received the 2010 Paul F. Parker Award from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. The award is given to a former resident of the UK Pharmacy Residency Program or an individual associated with the success of the program. It recognizes someone who has made a contribution to the profession, teaching or research. Dr. Baldwin is a 1973 graduate of the UK College of Pharmacy.

Trudy Meinberg, a hygienist in the College of Dentistry, has received the Pros in the Profession Award from the Oral B Crest Division of Proctor and Gamble. The national award recognizes hygienists who go above and beyond the call of duty. Meinberg is one of five hygienists to receive the award this year.

Three third-year medical students in the College of Medicine’s Enhanced Medical Education Tracks presented research at the recent American College of Rheumatology meeting. The students were:

  • Michael Carter, who’s work focused on arthroplasty of the shoulder as a treatment for arthritis;
  • Jordan Lacy, who investigates the mechanisms by which modification of proteins with citrulline causes rheumatoid arthritis in an animal models; and
  • Chris Peters, who investigates the potential role of the immune system in the development and/or progression of alcoholic liver disease.
