This photo by Allied Health’s Adam Stevens took third place in the photo contest.

The winning photo recounts the story. It features one picture of Madi just days after her first surgery in 2000 and another image of a smiling Madi taken about a year ago set over a background of The Lied Transplant Center, where the young girl received care for her rare form of epilepsy.

“She’s doing great,” Warchola said of her daughter. “She’s exceeding expectations.”

The photo received 109 likes on UNMC’s Facebook page to win the contest, tickets to next fall’s Nebraska-Northwestern football game and a free UNMC T-shirt.

The second place photo, which featured UNMC Summer Medical and Dental Education Program Students at Rosenblatt Stadium, was taken by Carly Crim of UNMC Student Services. Crim receives a $20 gift card to Goldberg’s II and a free UNMC T-shirt for her photo.

The third place photo features a baby with a temporary tattoo of the UNMC secondary icon on his forehead and was taken by Adam Stevens of the School of Allied Health Professions. Stevens receives a free UNMC T-shirt.
