Science Cafe examines link between risky behavior/head and neck cancer

Hey Science Cafe fans — check out this story from U.S.News and World Report that features a quote from UNMC’s William Lydiatt, M.D., the speaker for Tuesday’s Omaha Science Cafe.

In his presentation — titled “Do Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll Contribute to Head and Neck Cancer?” — Dr. Lydiatt will discuss an emerging epidemic of head and neck cancer and the possible contributions of risky behavior to the rise in the diseases.

What: Science Cafe is a free educational event sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase science literacy. Hosted by UNMC, Bio Nebraska and the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures, Science Cafes are held the first Tuesday of each month in Omaha and one Thursday every other month in Lincoln.

Cost: The event is free and open to the public and free pizza, provided by the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures, will be available for the first 50 attendees.
