What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?

As a clinical educator, I am honored to be in a position that allows me to witness a student’s growth full circle. I am able to see the anxiety turn into confidence, a student turn into a professional. So I would have to say, seeing each of the students individually succeed and grow into a quality health care professional is a repeated best memory.

Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us story about a time you saw it in action at UNMC.

The Radiography and Radiation Therapy Programs were due for their reports and site visit at the same time. The faculty scheduled regular meetings in order to share knowledge and collaborate efforts so that a quality product could result. The reports were ultimately submitted and the site visit took place. Both programs were awarded the maximum accreditation status by the accreditation body. I sincerely think that by working together as a team and being committed to offering our students a quality program, we were able to reach our goal.

List three things people may not know about you

  • I enjoy collecting antiques. My collection consists of depression ware, flow blue, ornate oak furniture pieces and RS Prussia.
  • Growing up, I spent my summers bean-buggying my father and uncle’s farmland. I now send my two boys back to the farm during planting and harvest seasons in order for them to be part of the family business and to reinforce the value of hard work.
  • I have been fortunate to be able to travel to London, Paris, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Hawaii. Scotland was my favorite. The rolling, green hillside is breathtaking.
