Artists from UNMC service learning project in the spotlight

Check out this story from Tuesday’s Omaha World-Herald that featured two artists whose works are featured in “Finding a Voice,” an exhibition at the Omaha Public Library.

The exhibit sprang from the work of a UNMC service learning project at the Sienna Francis House.

During the project, UNMC students interacted with guests at Sienna Francis House, an Omaha homeless shelter, which led to health-related activities for the guests that addressed their needs and inspired some to “find their voices” in art.

This inspiration led some guests down transformative paths that positively affected all areas of their lives.

The art exhibit is on display all month at the W. Dale Clark Main Library, 215 S. 15th St, where it can be viewed free of charge.
