The Burt Street Individuals will play the Music as Medicine concert today at noon in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium.
The band is a six-piece jazz ensemble featuring the Erickson family. Father, Lars, plays piano and mother, Lisa, plays flute. The couple’s four children also play instruments with Alek on bass, Adam behind the drums, Emma on cello and Helen on clarinet.

They have played at UNMC since 2004 and hit on many styles during including Baroque pieces by J.S. Bach to music by jazz great Herbie Hancock. Original numbers by Lars — an accomplished composer and jazz pianist — also will be featured.

Bring your lunch and enjoy the fabulous music.

The concert is sponsored by UNMC’s College of Nursing in support with UNMC’s Center for Continuing Education and the UNMC Human Resources Department.
