Student Spotlight – Anna Brynskikh

Education is one of the four pillars of UNMC’s mission and our students are the lifeblood of that aspect of campus life.

In UNMC Today’s Student Spotlight, we get to know some of these students, who are training to become tomorrow’s health care professionals.

Today we meet Anna Brynskikh, a fourth-year Ph.D., student in the Medical Science Interdepartmental Area.

  • Name: Anna Brynskikh
  • Hometown: Moscow
  • Year/program: Fourth-year Ph.D. student in the MSIA program

What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?

Going to conferences with my labmates and being recognized as a part of UNMC by our peers from all over the world.

Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC.

Working together. As a coordinator of the translational research meeting series in the Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine, I’m pleased with, and proud of, the willingness of people from many different units around the UNMC campus to participate in interdisciplinary projects.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • In my childhood I spent most summers in a national park where my father worked so I was raised to love the environment. UNMC’s new LiveGreen pledge program made me very happy.
  • I study art history and do art for a hobby.
  • I haven’t owned or watched a TV for more than 10 years. I find that it saves me much time.
