In 2006, F.A.S.T. started with a family of eight in Omaha, who collectively lost 501 pounds. The following year a group of about 100 lost 4,006 pounds. Now there are groups across 20 states and a team from UNMC has lost 832.1 pounds using the diet.

Below is a testimonial from a UNMC employee who did the F.A.S.T. diet.

I became a F.A.S.T. team member on the Monday before Thanksgiving in 2010. A co-worker was going to start then also, but she decided Thanksgiving and Christmas was a bad time to try to start a diet.

I came so close to not going to that first meeting because she didn’t go, but I decided to go and try it by myself. Now it is just 152 days later and I have lost 36 pounds and she is still trying to find the right time to get started.

I have gone from a size 14-16 down to a size 6-8. I am so very happy that I didn’t wait for a better time to get started.
