Remove McAfee Antivirus from home computers, get Symantec

Please note

While the Symantec software is available for home use, ITS does not provide support for personal home pc devices. The customer assumes responsibility for all installation and troubleshooting processes.

Faculty, staff, and students who use McAfee anti-virus software with UNMC licenses on their home computers should remove them by June 30.

Because UNMC will implement the Symantec antivirus product, the McAfee license was not renewed and no further updates nor support will be provided.

The new Symantec anti virus software is available for home use. The software and installation instructions can be downloaded at http://ess.unmc.edu. A UNMC NetID is required.
