UNMC LINK sandbag event tonight

Volunteer opportunities

Can’t make it tonight or want to help some more with the flood relief efforts? Visit http://volunteer.truist.com/omaha/volunteer/.

A special need exists for people to serve as site coordinators to supervise the sandbagging shifts. Contact Kristin Case at 402-444-5034 or Kirsten.case@ci.omaha.ne.us if you’re interested in serving as a site coordinator.

Employees are encouraged to come to Levi Carter Park near Eppley Airfield tonight to fill sandbags in an effort to protect the metro area from the Missouri River flood.

The UNMC team will fill sandbags from 5 to 8 p.m.

You don’t have to be a UNMC LINK member to participate but you do have to be 19 or older and wear close-toed shoes. It’s also recommended that volunteers bring gloves and a shovel and wear sunblock and bug spray.
