  • Name: Pam Cox
  • Hometown: Elk Creek, Neb.
  • No. of years at UNMC: 20

What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?

Working with colleagues, researchers and new students with whom I have developed friendships throughout the years.

Our four brand values are leadership, excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC.

Working together has been a value among our department. I see it almost everyday whether it be responding to a spill, attending to a patient or covering daily duties.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I grew up on a farm near a community of less than 100 people and had 12 people in my graduating class. I spent most of my time outside tending to the farm animals and riding/breaking horses was my favorite pastime. I wanted to become a veterinarian but ended up getting a master’s in biology instead.
  • I played volleyball in college and got a bachelor’s in physical education/recreation. Now I play sand volleyball and hit the gym on a regular basis.
  • For my birthday I used to do something adventurous each year — skydiving, scuba diving, bungee jumping, flying in an aerobatics plane. Now I compete auto-crossing Corvettes, I ride a Harley and love to travel to exotic places.
