Accelerated nursing student Jenna Propp does blood pressure screening for Bernardo Urrea during the University of Nebraska Expo in Scottsbluff.

Renaisa Anthony, M.D., M.P.H., deputy director and assistant professor in the College of Public Health Center for Reducing Health Disparities, received the 2011 Top Physician Under 40 award from the National Medical Association Post-graduate section. The award was presented to her in recognition of her outstanding performance and dedication to change the face, practice and future of medicine for the better.

Heather Brown, associate professor in the McGoogan Library of Medicine, recently completed a post-master’s certificate of advanced studies in health sciences librarianship from the University of Pittsburgh. She was awarded funding through the program’s IMLS grant, which allowed her to participate in the yearlong program.

Students at the UNMC College of Nursing West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff conducted health screenings Tuesday during the University of Nebraska Expo in Scottsbluff. The annual event showcases Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources programs in the Panhandle, which focus on:

  • Crop production;
  • Animal agriculture;
  • Food, nutrition and health;
  • Entrepreneurship;
  • Child and youth development; and
  • Water and the environment.
