Campus calendar launches on UNMC homepage

The new campus calendar has gone live on the UNMC website and will soon be active on the UNMC Today homepage as well as the UNMC Today email.

Contributors Frequent event contributors have been identified and given access to submit announcements. In the coming months, submissions will be opened to the public. Such submissions will be screened by calendar administrators before they are published. For more information about calendar contributions, contact UNMC Today Editor Chuck Brown at 402-559-8329.

The calendar is an automated system that allows individuals to post, edit, remove and update their own announcements for events in topics areas such as:

• Academics;
  
• Admissions;
  
• Alumni;
  
• Campus Life;
  
• Grand Rounds & Seminars;
  
• Health & Wellness;
  
• Outreach & Public Events;
  
• Student Events; and
  
• Training & Human Resources.

Upon its launch in UNMC Today, the calendar will replace the current announcement system used in campus newsletter. The daily UNMC Today email will link to the new calendar to display the upcoming events in the categories listed above.

The campus calendar will help people plan and find campus happenings and reduce instances of conflicting events.

Later in the year, departments and units will be able to include customized views of the new calendar on their individual websites.
