Angela Cassell and Tom Ashman
Angela Cassell — a Canadian Distance Learning Program (DLP) Masters of Physician Assistant student who graduates this month from UNMC — recently received the Tom Ashman PA of the year award from the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA). Ashman, for whom the award was named, developed a relationship between the Canadian Forces Military (CFM) and UNMC that has the medical center provide training to select CFM members.

Last month’s campus food drive goal to collect more than six tons of food was met. The medical center community gathered about 12,200 pounds — or just more than six tons — during the drive to support the Food Bank of the Midlands.
