Remembering … Jan Cohen

Funeral services for Jan Cohen, former president of the University Hospital Auxiliary and wife of UNMC faculty member Samuel Cohen, M.D., Ph.D., will be held today at 10 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church — 3405 S. 118th St.

Cohen was a founding member of the Friends of the Eppley Cancer Center Board and volunteered with several other organizations, including:

• Nebraskans for Research (now the Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures);
  
• The American Diabetes Association; and
  
• The Lauritzen Gardens Auxiliary.

In 1999, she was the recipient of the Community Service Award from the United Way of the Midlands.

Memorials can be made to Marian High School or the Salvation Army.
