Byron Reed collection inspires signers exhibit

Described as one of the top three coin, document and numismatic book collections in the United States, the Byron Reed Collection is a treasure among the many exhibits on display at the Durham Western Heritage Museum. And its contents, particularly autographs contained in the document collection, are what prompted museum staff to create another exhibit, “The Signers,” on display from April 28 through Sept. 2.

David O’Dell, M.D., credits the late LeeRoy Meyer, M.D., for getting him into medical education. … On Friday, at a ceremony to dedicate a new education center named after Dr. Meyer — a legendary UNMC educator who died in 2005 after teaching for more than three decades in the College of Medicine — Dr. O’Dell was named the first ever LeeRoy Meyer Professor of Medicine.
