City and county officials who voted to provide funding for the Cancer Center Campus will be honored at a UNMC event next week.
The event will take place Nov. 15 in the events foyer on the first level of the Sorrell Center, with a reception at 4:30 p.m. and remarks at 5 pm.

Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle, City Council President Thomas Mulligan, Douglas County Board Chair Mary Ann Borgeson and several other city and county officials plan to attend.

The Omaha City Council voted recently to provide $35 million over the next 10 years to the $370 Cancer Center Campus, and Mayor Jim Suttle signed that ordinance. Meantime, the Douglas County Commissioners voted to provide $5 million over the next decade to the project.

Please RSVP to unmcoutreach@unmc.edu or 402-559-4353 if you plan to attend the Nov. 15 event.
