Melissa Teoh-Fitzgerald, Ph.D., assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, is among the many new faculty members at UNMC.

Title: Assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology

Research interest: Understanding the role of redox signaling in the tumor microenvironment that drives the oncogenic hepatocyte growth factor, HGF/c-Met activation during epithelial-fibroblast interaction in breast cancer.

Education: Ph.D., 2005 — University of Alberta, Alberta, Canada

Postdoctoral training: Free Radical and Radiation Biology Program, department of radiation oncology, University of Iowa, 2005-2010
