A live stream option will link employees to the event beginning at 11:50 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21.

“We know it can be difficult to travel to the main campus or to take a break from a busy work day. That’s why our committee wanted to add this option so everyone can participate in this inspiring, respected and well-attended event,” said Myrna Newland, M.D., director of UNMC’s Equity Office and coordinator of the Martin Luther King Day Commemoration Committee.

Native Omahan John Ewing, Jr. will deliver the annual keynote address to honor the slain civil rights leader. Ewing is the current Douglas County treasurer and former deputy chief with the Omaha Police Department. He titled his speech, “Are YOU Living the Dream?”
