Nebraska music the focus of Jan. 24 Durham event

Music from various ethnic groups in Nebraska will be featured during a Jan. 24 Durham Museum presentation by Lincoln native Chris Sayre.

Who: Sayre has performed professionally for 30 years. He has dedicated much of that time to the promotion and preservation of traditional folk music from Western Europe and North America.

What: UNMC employees and students are invited to this special presentation that explores the rich diversity of folk music that has been a part of Nebraska’s history from the time it was a territory to the present day. Sayre will perform on the:

  • Button accordion;
  • Concertina;
  • Dulcimer;
  • Guitar;
  • Mandolin;
  • Musical saw; and
  • Zithers.

When: Noon. Employees are encouraged to bring their lunch.

Where: Durham Research Center Auditorium
