Registration open for pediatric writing workshop

The Child Health Research Institute — an innovative partnership between UNMC and Children’s Hospital & Medical Center — will host its semiannual Pediatric Writing Workshop on Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The theme of the workshop is “Essential Skills for the Clinical Research Principal Investigator.”

The agenda is designed to equip investigators with an assortment of skills and tools to support high-quality research projects and dissemination. The interactive sessions are aimed at helping clinicians in the early stages of developing a clinical research program, the experienced investigators who wish to stay up-to-date on rapidly evolving local research resources, and those in between.

The workshop will provide participants with:

  • •Expert guidance and active exercise in the formulation of a strong research question and effective research design;
  • Understanding of ethical concerns to address in a research design and keys to a successful IRB protocol submission, including mentored evaluation of a prepared protocol;
  • Strategies for staffing a research team and building collaborations;
  • Fundamental and practical insights into patient recruitment and clinical data collection from CHRI staff experts;
  • Knowledge and exercise of tools to improve your author footprint in the digital publishing era; and
  • Faculty-facilitated conversation on balancing professional growth with life priorities.

Register here to reserve your spot in the workshop. Space is limited; register at your earliest convenience to guarantee a spot. Registration will close on Monday, Jan. 27.
