Vice Chancellor for Research Jennifer Larsen, M.D., has announced the 2020/21 call for the Health Disparities Pilot Grant program in support of the Healthy People 2020 Initiative and the shared mission of UNMC and Nebraska Medicine to transform lives to create a healthy future for all.
All UNMC faculty who have a signed employment agreement in place with a start date of Nov. 1, 2019 or before are eligible to apply. A committee of UNMC and community members will be identified to review applications and selection priority will be based on:
- Scientific merit and likelihood of new extramural funding;
- Health disparities significant in our regions, as documented by literature or community member priorities;
- Proposals with the greatest impact (on prevalence or severity of disparities);
- Focused on under-represented minorities in our region: African-Americans, Latino/a, Native Americans;
- Projects being conducted in Nebraska, in part or wholly; and
- Evidence of community participation and/or input as documented by letters(s) of support, where applicable.
Applications must be submitted through the NuRamp Internal Competitions module by 5 p.m. on March 9.
