Take care 101: Have a belly laugh

When was the last time you laughed — really laughed? You’re not alone if laughter has been in short supply during an unusually heavy and overwhelming year. Just as we asked you to practice gratitude each day, look, too, for opportunities to laugh, relax and unwind — even if only for a few minutes.

This month, the UNMC Campus Wellness team is sharing research-proven strategies on how best to thrive despite the stresses of 2020.

Today’s “Take Care” tip: Have a good belly laugh.

This is a prescription that we hope you will fill today. Did you know that laughter reduces blood pressure and enhances immune function? It’s good for you. Find videos or sitcoms or other ways to exercise your laughter muscles.

Now, make us laugh. Share your favorite videos/sitcoms or clean jokes in the comments below.
