A unified Information Technology team across Nebraska Medicine and UNMC; Workday; Salesforce and the digital front door; the Nebraska NOW — these are just some of the high-profile projects Brian Lancaster, vice president, information technology helped champion in his seven years here.

In July, he will begin a new role as senior vice president, chief information and digital officer at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. The move will also put Lancaster, a Kansas City native, closer to family.

"This was a hard decision for me," Lancaster said. "I love the work we have done together at Nebraska Medicine, but with both my sons at Kansas State University as well as having elderly parents in Kansas City, I felt it was the right time to move back home."

"It's bittersweet for me professionally and personally," said Michael Ash, MD, executive vice president-chief transformation officer. "Brian has been an integral leader to so many important IT advancements here. We've also worked together for 18 years, so I'm disappointed to see him leave, but thrilled for his new opportunity."

His last day with Nebraska Medicine will be Monday, July 4. Dr. Ash says a search for the next IT vice president will begin soon.
