Garden Walk set for June 12

The public is invited to attend the Garden Walk, hosted by the Munroe-Meyer Guild.

What: The Munroe-Meyer Guild’s 43rd Garden Walk features five fantastic Omaha gardens that individuals can stroll through to view unique and creative displays in landscaping, plants, flowers and water features. Master gardeners and vendors also will be present at some of the gardens.

Where: Individuals can tour the following gardens at their leisure.

  • Barrington Park, 16371 Page St.
  • Pepperwood, 15005 Burt St.
  • Deer Creek, 7420 N. 124th St.
  • New Horizon, 10524 Nicholas St.
  • Meadowbrook, 9822 Louis Drive

Why: Proceeds from the event benefit the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute for children and adults with developmental disabilities. In the past, funds have supported:

  • Gait training to improve walking in children with cerebral palsy;
  • Stipends for graduate student preparing to teach children with disabilities; and
  • Social skills training for children and adolescents with severe social impairments.

When: Sunday, June 12, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rain or shine!

  • Day of event tickets: $18
  • (Children under 5 get in free; no strollers are allowed in the gardens).
