Wellness Wednesday — Brain health the focus of women’s wellness conference

“Brain Power: A Healthy Brain at Any Age” is the title of the 14th annual Omaha Women’s Health and Wellness Conference.

When: Friday, Oct. 7, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: The Mid-America Center, Council Bluffs, Iowa

Registration: The conference is open to the public. The registration deadline is Sept. 30. For a registration form, visit www.omahawomenshealthandwellness.org. The cost of the conference is $49, which includes lectures, breakfast, lunch and exhibits.

Speakers: The breakfast keynote speaker — Dennis Molfese, Ph.D., director of the Developmental Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln — will discuss how verbal memory, attention span and the ability to multi-task changes throughout our lifespan.

The main session speaker, Kelly Fairbanks, Psy.D., clinical psychologist at The Nebraska Medical Center, will discuss the benefits of exercise on the brain.
