On Thursday and Friday, Leavenworth Street will be resurfaced from Saddle Creek Road to approximately 44th Street.
Removal of old asphalt will take place during the day and one driving lane at a time. The street will not close for this work.
Section to close Friday night
The installation of new asphalt will start at 10 p.m., on Friday and be completed by 6 a.m., on Saturday. Leavenworth Street will be closed from 42nd Street to Saddle Creek Road during the installation of the new asphalt surface.
The work will create a better driving surface and a left turn lane on Leavenworth Street at 45th Street with new traffic lights that will be installed in the next few weeks.
Work on 45th Street to come
Additional work to widen 45th Street north of Leavenworth Street will be completed in the next two to three weeks.
Employees and students assigned to parking lots No. 17 and No. 59 should use the Jones Plaza entrance off of Saddle Creek Road just north of the “QuickTrip” gas station during the construction period.
